Roles and access

ForLearnersManagersAdmins

Each person in Arcade has one role, and your organization gives it to you. Your role decides what you can see and manage. The settings of your organization decide which sections of Arcade are on. Use this page to find out what your role gives you, and who to ask when you need more.

The table starts with the lowest role. Each role can do all that the lower roles can do.

Role What you get
Learner The Home, Train, Games, and Rewards tabs.
Team Ambassador The same tabs as a Learner.
Team Manager The Learner tabs, plus Coach, Insights, and Manage for the teams that you manage.
Team Admin The same tabs as a Team Manager. A Team Admin can also change the role of a person.
Company Manager The same tabs as a Team Admin. A Company Manager manages all the people and teams of the organization, and can change the team hierarchy.
Champion All of the above, plus the ADMIN section of Manage. It has the settings of the whole organization.

Team Managers and Team Admins see only the people and the teams that they manage. Membership of a team does not make you its manager. For the people that each role manages and the Manage pages of each role, see Roles and permissions.

Arcade sets four sections for your organization, for the whole company or for each team:

  • Training: the Train tab.
  • Coaching: the Coach tab.
  • Games: the Games tab.
  • Rewards: the Rewards tab and your token balance.

When a section is off for you, its tab does not show, also for a Champion. Coaching is off until Arcade turns it on. Insights shows only when one of its reports applies to your sections.

A team can have its own sections. They replace the sections of the company for the members of the team and of the teams below it. So two people with the same role can see different tabs. For more cases, see Why don’t I see Insights, Coach, or Manage?.

  • For a different role: ask a person with a higher role than the role that you need. A Team Admin, a Company Manager, or a Champion can change a role, but only to a role lower than their own. A Champion can give any role, also Champion.
  • For a section that is off: your organization cannot turn a section on or off in Manage. Ask your Champion to speak to your Arcade customer success manager. See Get support.

Each page of this site shows the readers that it is for:

Label on a page Arcade roles
Learners Learner, Team Ambassador
Managers Team Manager, Team Admin, Company Manager
Admins Champion

A page for managers also applies to Champions, because a Champion can do all that a manager can do.
