Create a pathway
All new training starts from the New button on the Pathways page. Choose the way to start from the content that you have. You can start from a topic and documents, from one training step, or from an empty pathway.
Choose how to start
Section titled “Choose how to start”Go to ManagePathways, then select New.

| Generate Pathway with AI | You have a topic or documents, and you want AI to write a complete draft. Refer to Generate a pathway with AI. |
| Create Single Interaction | You need one training step, for example a roleplay for a pathway that you already have. |
| Create New Empty Pathway | You want to build the pathway one step at a time. |
To choose the type of each step, refer to Pathways, skills, and certifications.
Create an empty pathway
Section titled “Create an empty pathway”Select New, then Create New Empty Pathway, and enter the name that learners will see.
Arcade opens the new pathway as a draft. Next, add interactions to it.
Create a single interaction
Section titled “Create a single interaction”Select New, then Create Single Interaction. The wizard asks where the interaction goes, its type, and if you write it with AI or manually.
With AI, you describe the topic. AI also reads the web pages that you link in your description. While AI writes the interaction, keep Arcade open.
What happens next depends on the place that you chose:
- Create new pathway: Arcade makes a pathway with the name New Content and opens it. Give the pathway a real name in its Details panel.
- Add to existing pathway: Arcade adds the interaction at the end of that pathway and opens the interaction.
A new interaction starts as a draft, also in a published pathway. Learners see it only after you publish it. Refer to Publish a pathway.
The Add button inside a pathway makes interactions with AI only. To build an interaction by hand for a pathway that you have, use Create Single Interaction and Add to existing pathway.
