Certifications
A certification is the step of a pathway that checks what you learned. You record a spoken answer to each question. No person and no AI talks to you. An AI reviewer grades your recordings after you finish. When you pass enough questions, you get the certification.
Take a certification
Section titled “Take a certification”- In your pathway, select the certification. Then select Start Certification.
- Read how many questions you must pass. Then select Start.
- Read the full question. If the question has a More button, select it.
- Record your answer. Then select Save.
- Select Next card, and answer the next question in the same way. After the last question, select Finish.
The AI reviewer grades only what you say, so speak clearly and give a full answer to each question. If an answer is short or not complete, select Redo before you select Save. After Save, you cannot record that answer again in this attempt.
Get your result
Section titled “Get your result”The AI reviewer usually needs 1 to 5 minutes to grade your answers. Until then, your pathway shows ASSESSING, and you cannot start the certification again.
To see your result, go to TrainFeedback and select the certification.
When you pass, the certification shows on your profile and the step is complete in your pathway. You cannot take a certification again after you pass it.
Try again after a fail
Section titled “Try again after a fail”Read the reason for each failed question before you try again. To learn why a correct answer can fail, see Why did I fail the certification when I said the right thing?.
- Wait for the cooldown period. Your manager can set a number of days to wait after a fail. If you select the certification before then, Arcade shows Retry in and the number of days. The wait counts calendar days from the day of your attempt, not hours.
- Prepare for every question. Each new attempt asks all the questions again, also the questions that you passed.
- Know when the cooldown period does not apply. If Arcade got no speech from your attempt, or could not grade it, your pathway shows TRY AGAIN, and you can start again immediately. An attempt that was too short also shows TRY AGAIN, but the cooldown period applies to it.
- Ask your manager when you think a grade is wrong. A manager can watch your answers and change the result.
See your certifications
Section titled “See your certifications”Your certifications show in the CERTIFICATIONS section of your profile.
Only you see this section. Other people, also your manager, do not see it on your profile.
Set the pass criteria and the cooldown period
Section titled “Set the pass criteria and the cooldown period”Set Pass Criteria and Cooldown Period when you edit the certification.
Pass Criteria is the number of questions that a learner must pass in one attempt. Each prompt card is one question, so the maximum is the number of prompt cards.
Check the start values before you assign the pathway:
- When AI generates a certification, the Pass Criteria is the number of questions, so learners must pass every question. Refine with AI sets it again when it replaces the questions.
- A certification that you create yourself starts with a Pass Criteria of 1 and a Cooldown Period of 0 days.
When many learners fail, read the reasons of the failed questions before you lower the Pass Criteria. A question or its AI Card Pass Criteria that does not agree with the content can fail correct answers. Correct the content first.
Follow the results of your learners
Section titled “Follow the results of your learners”Open the certification session of a learner in Session details to watch each answer and read the reason for each result. If the AI reviewer made a mistake, change the result of the question. A changed result does not certify the learner. To give the learner the certification, approve the session.
