Give recognition and tokens

A recognition star is a thank-you to a colleague, with a short message from you. When your organization uses rewards, you can also give tokens, which the person can spend in the rewards store.

Give recognition

Section titled “Give recognition”
  1. On Home, select Recognize or Recognize and Give. The directory of your colleagues opens.
  2. On the card of the person, select the star button. If you cannot find the person, refer to Find a colleague in the directory.
  3. Complete the form, and select Give Recognition.

The person gets the notification “You just got recognized!”, and the star shows on their profile. Arcade also posts the recognition in the feeds of the teams of the person. It shows in the feed of the whole organization only when recognition updates are on in Org Settings. If your organization turned on chests for recognition, the person also gets a chest with 50 tokens. Refer to Tokens, games, and rewards.

You can also recognize a person from their profile with Recognize, or from the feed with Recognition in the post box.

Your weekly stars

By default, you can give one star each week. A manager can change this number for each person. Refer to Add and manage people. Arcade gives you new stars every Monday. The stars that you did not give do not carry over to the next week. When you have no stars left, the star button on the cards is off until Monday.

Give tokens

  1. In the directory, select the token button on the card of the person.
  2. Under FUND FROM, select where the tokens come from.
  3. Enter the amount and a message, and select Give Tokens.

Arcade tells the teams of the person about your gift only when you select Send announcement to the team.

The source decides whose tokens you give:

  • Personal Account holds your own tokens. Arcade asks you to confirm before you give them.
  • Company Account or Company Budget holds company tokens. It shows only when your organization gives you a budget.

Arcade sends the tokens immediately, and the person gets a notification with your message. You cannot cancel a gift. Only a manager can remove tokens from a person. Refer to Your tokens.

See the recognition that you received

Section titled “See the recognition that you received”

Your stars and their messages are on your profile, under RECOGNITION. Other people can also see your stars on your profile.

Good to know

Section titled “Good to know”
  • If Give Recognition shows “No recognition stars available”, your organization has no stars yet. An admin adds them in Org Settings.
  • If Give Tokens shows “Giving tokens paused”, nobody in your organization can give tokens. Only Arcade can turn this pause on or off for your organization. Ask your admin to contact Arcade.
